The action “This course has no gender” was recognized with the seal “an INCoDe.2030 action”, in the area of education and professional training and inclusion. Developed by the Amar Terra Verde Professional School (EPATV), within the scope of the Plan for Gender Equality, Inclusion and Non-Discrimination, it consisted of promoting a competition for the making of a video, promoting equal access to professional courses.
The Technovation Girls program was recognized, once again, with the seal “an INCoDe.2030 action”, in the area of education and professional training and inclusion. This is a worldwide technological education program that aims to empower girls aged 8 to 18 to become confident in STEM areas, leaders in identifying and raising awareness of current relevant problems and creators of technological solutions.
In Portugal, the program had around 300 participants in 2022 and 500 participants in 2023. Participants work in teams of a maximum of five members, selecting a problem in their community and creating an application for mobile devices or an artificial intelligence project to help to solve it.
The program has an associated curriculum that trains and guides the teams, and lasts around 40 hours. Along the way (January to May) the teams are supported by mentors who guide them on this challenging journey, in which they are expected to develop technical and business knowledge, as well as socio-emotional skills.
The submitted works are evaluated by an international jury that selects the finalists for a global event, which takes place in August (World Summit Technovation Girls).
