INCoDe.2030 Meeting - Experts discuss, in Viseu, "Education, Development of Teachers' Digital Skills"

The INCoDe.2030 Meeting, "Education, Development of Teachers' Digital Skills", took place on May 29, at Polytechnic Institute of Viseu, a joint organization of the Directorate General for Education and the Directorate General for Higher Education. 

With the participation of a broad range of experts, the event aimed to reflect on teacher's initial training, as well as their professional development concerning digital skills. 

"To qualify the portuguese population for digital skills is a major challenge, which spreads among different political, economic, cultural and social dimensions. In the scope of INCoDe.2030 - Education Action Line, the goal is to teach the youngsters by fostering and boosting digital literacy and skills on all levels of education and learning throughout life. 

The digital technology is changing the way in which people think, work, interact and learn. Consequently, education has to assist the students in their learning, developing digital skills beyond simple use. Such support also includes the preparation of present and future teachers so they can promote teaching and learning environments that lead to the development of scientific thinking, projet and collaborative work skills on children and young people attending compulsory education."
