Gulbenkian organizes seminar on computing and society
The seminar Computing and Society will be held tomorrow, 27th November from 9:30 am and offers free admission. Promoted by The Gulbenkian Forum for Reflection and Debate, this conference aims to bring together educators, scientists, entrepreneurs and individuals, in order to create synergies which might allow seizing and developing the potential of the areas under discussion.
Divided into four sessions, the seminar will host different national and international experts to reflect on the different knowledge within the field of computing. We highlight the participation of Pedro Guedes de Oliveira, Global Coordinator of the Technical Coordination team, Sofia Marques da Silva Coordinator of Axis 1 - Inclusion of INCoDe.2030 and Pedro Dominguinhos Coordinator of Axis 4 - Specialisation of INCoDe.2030.
As computing is much more than programming or using computers, all sessions will address it under different interpretations: as an essential skill for the future, as advanced training capable of leading to a competitive and leadership position, its social and economic impact, as well as the importance of digital literacy and the need to reach out all segments of the population.
