Applications for Digital Inclusion projects are open
Since May 9th, Portugal Social Innovation has open applications to finance innovative projects aimed at improving efficiency in the provision of public services and solving social problems, particularly in the area of Digital Inclusion.
€ 5 million are available to support Social Impact Certificates through the implementation of social innovation projects which are expected to work in the areas of Digital Inclusion, Social Protection, Employment, Justice or Health.
The Certificates of Social Impact are intended to support innovative projects that respond to social problems prioritized by public policy competence, in a Pay-As-You-Go option. The project is implemented by one or more private entities and financed by a number of social investors, aiming to achieve certain measurable social results whose indicators and metrics must be previously validated by the Public Sector Entity. If the contractual results are achieved, the social investors are fully reimbursed.
The Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) IP, is not only responsible for proposing the actions necessary for the inclusion and digital literacy of citizens and organizations in the Information and Knowledge Society, but it is also the Public Entity responsible for the prior validation of projects in the area of Digital Inclusion, for the issuance of the "Public Sector Entity's Opinions" and for integrating the partnerships in the validated applications.
The notice will be open continually until the 5 million euros appropriation is exhausted.
