Evaluation Committee

The External Review Committee monitors and evaluates INCoDe.2030 on an annual basis, and is composed of three independent experts of recognized international merit. This group is appointed by the Foundation for Science and Technology (Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia – FCT), based on relevant information provided by the Directorate-General for Statistics on Education and Science, and National Institute of Statistics.

The 2019 Committee is composed by:

LAURENT CROUZETLAURENT CROUZET is the Deputy Scientific Director of the Mathematics, Physics, Nanosciences and ICT Department at the General Directorate for Research and Innovation of the French Ministry for Higher Education, Research and Innovation. He is involved in the EuroHPC initiative and in the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) project, and he serves as French delegate to the European e-Infrastructures Reflection Group (e-IRG). Dr. Laurent Crouzet was part of the French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission (CEA) and was a European member in the Project Committee of the International Fusion Energy Research Centre (IFERC).

DONATELLA CASTELLIDONATELLA CASTELLI is Researcher of the Italian National Research Council (CNR-ISTI), being responsible for the NEtworked Multimedia Information System Laboratory (NEMIS). She has been the principal investigator of several European and International funded projects on digital libraries and data e-Infrastructures, allowing her to acquire considerable experience in these domains and understand the requirements of many scientific communities.

NORA MCGREGORNORA MCGREGOR is the British Library’s Digital Curator for European & Americas Collections. She has designed and delivered the Library’s ground-breaking Digital Scholarship Training Programme which prepares staff for the computational turn in humanities research. Nora is involved in projects such as the LIBER Digital Humanities working group, Turing Data Science and Digital Humanities, e Cyclades: Corpora and Corpus Linguistics for Digital Humanities Consortium, amongst others.

The members of the Committee were in Portugal to present the evaluation’ conclusions of INCoDe.2030 projects across the country. Each axis was assessed in its practical application by verifying the ongoing projects as part of a three-day visit from June 17th to 19th.
