INCoDe.2030 carries out a national survey of initiatives of digital training

INCoDe.2030 is carrying out a survey of digital capacity building initiatives, at a national level, with the support of Deloitte. This survey aims to centralize, on the Digital Skills and Jobs Platform, all the information related to training and digital training initiatives at national level, so that citizens, companies, central and local public administration and the third sector can identify opportunities for training and develop the most appropriate to your needs.

The Aveiro region was the target of the pilot project, and the results were presented within the scope of the Roadmap INCoDe.2030 – Digital Training, which took place on the 26th of January at the University of Aveiro. By the end of the year, data will be collected in all regions and the project results will be published on the Digital Skills and Jobs Platform at: https://digitalcoalition.pt/.

The results of the pilot in Aveiro show that public, private and third sector entities in the region will promote more than 100 digital training initiatives, and that 59 of the initiatives will be aimed at workers and 14 at companies, and will focus on topics such as data protection, cybersecurity or programming language. The actions and training created will be, in most cases (78%), free of charge.

Among the 13 entities promoting these initiatives, there are nine from the private sector and three from the public sector. The study, available in annex, highlights actions that will be promoted by entities such as AEVA (Association for Education and Enhancement of the Region of Aveiro), UNAVE (Association for Professional Training and Research of the University of Aveiro), Inova-Ria (Association of Companies for an Innovation Network in Aveiro) or the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the District of Aveiro (AIDA CCI).

“Portugal is slightly above the European average in terms of internet usage, but around 15% of our population is still not online and only 29% of Portuguese men and women have digital skills above basic level. There is therefore a way to go. What this pilot shows us is that the region of Aveiro is following this path at a good pace, with a very satisfactory offer of actions that should be better publicized among the population, in order to reduce the number of people who still do not have these Skills. The work carried out in this region will serve as an example for a broader survey of projects like these throughout the national territory”, says Luisa Ribeiro Lopes, General Coordinator of INCoDe.2030.
