Converter licenciados para a área digital
The first edition of SWitCH, the program designed to convert unempoyed graduated students for the area of information and communication technologies (ICT), started on October 2nd, at the Instituto Superior de Engenharia do Porto (ISEP).
This program is registered as an action of the axis (axis 3) qualification of INCoDe.2030, being the result of a partnership between the Association Tech Hub Porto and ISEP.
The SWitCH program focus on the acquisition of skills and the integration of ICT professionals. This program aims to meet the needs of technology-based companies that are required to hire professionals with knowledge in the areas of information technology. It is a Project based learning, where students learn with the use of agile methodologies based on execution, instead of long classes.
According to the Tech Hub Porto, more than 200 applications were received, from graduates of several areas, and selected 29 students who will integrate the first action of SwitCH. This graduate will have classes for nine months, followed by paid internships – that all students will have access – with a duration of 12 months in the context of the companies of the Tech Hub Porto.
This is a contribution to minimize the problem of shortage of human resources able to work in the area of technology and next year the program intends to double the number of students, being already considering the possibility of expanding the program to other locations.
The Axis of Qualification in INCoDe. 2030 aims to professionally train, the active population with the digital skills necessary for the integration into the labour market, including the retraining of unemployed graduates [Measure 3.6.].
